RCMP Heritage Centre Tour and Parade

Date: Tuesday, November 8
Time: 9:45AM – 2:00PM
Meeting Location: College West 112 (CW112)
Destination: RCMP Heritage Centre (5907 Dewdney Avenue)

We welcome you to attend a guided tour of the RCMP Heritage Centre and the Sergeant Major’s Parade.

Through offering engaging exhibition galleries, programs and tours, the RCMP Heritage Centre brings to life the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and their integral role in Canada’s cultural landscape. With the goal of educating visitors about the history and evolution of the Mounted Police Force, the walking tour will highlight the museum’s exhibits and artifacts.

The Sergeant Major’s Parade will take place at the RCMP Academy, ‘Depot’ Division. In 1885, the Mounties began their training at this same location. Participants will have the opportunity to watch the drill staff put cadets through their paces in a motorized tour. The parade will include a roll call, inspection of the troops and a cadet band.

As the RCMP has played a significant role in forming Canada’s history and identity since 1873, we encourage you to participate in this exciting event.

On the day of the event, please dress according to the weather, as the parade will take place outdoors. Since the tour and parade will occur through the lunch hour, please bring enough food and water.

A bus will drive participants from the University of Regina to the RCMP Heritage Centre. Please meet at College West 112 (CW112) at 9:45am. At 2:00pm, the bus will return participants from the RCMP Heritage Centre to the University of Regina.

Family members are welcome to attend; a fee of $10 per additional person will apply.

Please RSVP to Linda Nguyen at by Wednesday, November 2 to confirm your attendance.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
