The Rule of Law in an Age of Fear

This lecture, which is part of the University's "Deliberation and Debate" series, will be delivered by Dennis Edney.

Mr. Edney is a Canadian defence lawyer from Edmonton, Alberta who is noted for his high-profile cases. He served as defence attorney for Omar Khadr, a Canadian citizen who was detained at Guantanamo Bay at the age of 16, and who was recently offered a $10m settlement from the Government of Canada. Mr. Edney was born in Dundee, Scotland, and has received many awards and honours recognizing his commitment to human rights and his exceptional contributions to the legal profession.
