Meeting Location: College West 112 (CW112)

Destination: Government House (4607 Dewdney Avenue)

We welcome you to attend a guided tour of the Government House.

Through offering engaging exhibition galleries, programs and tours, the Government House gives guests a glimpse of life at the turn of the 20th Century. Built in 1891, this grand building first served as the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of the Northwest Territories, Amédée Emmanuel Marie Forget. The Government House has since then been restored to the period of 1898 – 1905, the years in which Amédée Emmanuel Marie Forget’s territorial headquarters were in Regina.

With the goal of educating visitors about the history of this true Canadian treasure, the walking tour will highlight the museum’s exhibits and artifacts. Prior to departure, participants will also have the opportunity to explore other exhibits on their own, and take photos.

On the day of the event, please dress according to the weather, as a portion of the tour will take place outdoors. We also ask participants to consider providing the Government House with a donation for entry.

A bus will drive participants from the University of Regina to the Government House. Please meet at College West 112 (CW112) at 8:40am. At 12:00pm, the bus will return participants from the Government House to the University of Regina.

Please RSVP to Ana Lucia at Faculty.Mobility@uregina.ca by Tuesday, January 23 to confirm your attendance.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
