The First Nations University Powwow is one of the longest running celebrations in Saskatchewan and highly attended Powwow in Western Canada!

The Saskatchewan Indian Federated College (SIFC) students began this celebration more than 40 years ago and they still play a significant leadership role in hosting the event!

The event is alcohol-free and is targeted at families and spectators (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous) visitors of all ages. This come-and-go event has exciting and colorful traditional Powwow performances that run continuously throughout the afternoon and evening, beginning with our Grand Entry at 12:00 noon on Saturday and Sunday as well as 7:00pm in the evenings.

To celebrate 40 years of success through the first nations culture and education, the event will be displaying a number of Specials including tiny-tot initiations, adult dance competitions and hand-drum contests.
A bus will be driving all the interested on this event to the event site. The meeting point will be outside my office (College West 112) at 11:15 am. We will be leaving at 11:30 am. At 4:00 pm the bus will return all participants to the University of Regina.
Please RSVP to faculty.mobility@uregina.ca by Monday, April 16.
