About Us

The Facilities Services department works to coordinate, manage and oversee hundreds of events that run annually within the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport (CKHS). These events range from varsity athletics and recreational activities to career fairs, as a result the CKHS is consistently the hub of activity on the U of R campus.

The Centre opened in September 2004. The building was constructed alongside the existing Physical Activity Centre. This state-of-the-art facility houses one of the top gymnasiums in the country.

The Facilities Services Centre is located at CK 119, which is adjacent to the two multipurpose gymnasiums in the east wing of the CKHS. Through this service centre, patrons are able to borrow equipment, take advantage of a towel service and gain access to our aquatics centre during public swim times.

In addition to running the Facilities Services Centre, Facilities Services staff prepare and perform the setup and takedown for all events in the CKHS.  This includes laying down protective floor covering, assembling volleyball nets, setting up bleachers for spectators, and other functions.
