Qing Wins Three Medals

The University of Regina’s Michael Qing won three swimming medals for Canada at the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi this week.

Qing won gold in the 1,500-metre freestyle, bronze in the 400m freestyle, and was a part of the Canadian 4x100m relay team that won gold.

Qing is currently employed in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies as a Fitness and Lifestyle Centre and Facilities Services Attendant.

Qing started swimming competitively in 2004 and has been involved with Special Olympics Saskatchewan for 17 years. He holds numerous Special Olympics and World Down Syndrome swim records and has competed at the international level multiple times.
