Fall 2021 New Student Registration Recommendations
We have put together a course registration information sheet for students admitted to the fall semester outlining course recommendations for all of our programs (and a few additional ones that we find students are interested in exploring)
The Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies offers courses with the subject prefix KIN (Kinesiology), HS (Health Studies), KHS (Kinesiology and Health Studies), SRS (Sport and Recreation Studies), THRC (Therapeutic Recreation). Our courses are of interest to a broad audience as electives, or may be required in other faculties. Generally, the subject code is related to the degrees/ programs we offer in the faculty.
KIN (Kinesiology)
Courses offered as ‘KIN’ can be required core courses in the Bachelor of Kinesiology or Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Studies or required major courses. They are also requirements of other degree programs on campus.
HS (Health Studies)
Courses offered as HS are specialized courses within the Bachelor of Health Studies (BHS). Aside from HS 200, all other HS courses are restricted to students completing the BHS.
KHS (Kinesiology and Health Studies)
Courses offered as ‘KHS’ can be activity-based classes, classes of general interested to the university community or required in more than one degree program that the faculty offers.
SRS (Sport and Recreation Studies)
Courses offered as SRS can be core requirements in the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Studies, major required courses for the Sport and Recreation Management or Therapeutic Recreation majors, or electives in any degree program.
