U of R Athletics

University of Regina Cougars & Rams varsity student-athletes are being allowed to voluntarily return to campus for training and practice purposes under strict health and safety guidelines. These athletes are currently being allowed to use the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport (CKHS) facilities including the Fitness and Lifestyle Centre (FLC) and the swimming pool.

Varsity Sport has worked closely with the University’s Health, Safety & Wellness team and others to develop comprehensive protocols to resume training and practicing, including; 3m physical distancing, mask usage (when distancing is not possible), COVID-19 education, health questionnaires, hand sanitizing, cleaning regimes, staggered schedules, contact tracing measures, and locker rooms remain closed. These protocols are designed to protect the health of students, coaches and staff. We will also be reviewing the protocols as practice resumes and will make any changes necessary to ensure all members of the campus community are kept safe.

The facilities at the CKHS including the Fitness & Lifestyle Centre, Aquatics Centre, turf field and gymnasiums remain closed to other students, staff, and the public to ensure appropriate physical distancing and other protective measures can be implemented.

At this time, the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the University of Regina does not have a planned re-opening date for broader facility usage. We will keep our clients and our campus community informed of any updates.
