Bad Blood

Sun., Mar. 19, 2017 2:00 p.m. - Sun., Mar. 19, 2017 5:00 p.m.

Location: University Theatre

The second production of the Theatre Department’s 2016-2017 Season is Bad Blood

written and directed by Joey Tremblay.

Bad Blood is a co-production with the University of Regina Theatre Department and Curtain Razors Theatre , and runs March 15 – 19, 2017 in the University Theatre  Riddell Centre starting at 7:30 p.m.  In a unique initiative proposed by Joey Tremblay, the Artistic Director of Curtain Razors Theatre,  Bad Blood pairs previous alumni of the Theatre Department with current theatre students, providing a unique opportunity for several of our student actors to create, observe, and perform alongside working professionals in the industry.

Bad Blood is a gothic retelling of Joey Tremblay’s harrowing experience within the Saskatchewan healthcare system. One part horror story and one part stand-up comedy, Bad Blood is a thrilling roller coaster ride through the many emotions of patienthood.

Bad Blood is not a critique of health care systems, but an examination of the institutional approach to empathy and healing. This play is grounded in the idiosyncrasies of Saskatchewan healthcare but is relevant to any Canadian audience who has experienced the complexities of the public healthcare system. This work is created from personal impulse and experience, but promises to resonate across the country.

This play contains mature content/themes, with a strong language warning.

Bad Blood opens March 15th–18th on the Riddell Centre Mainstage at 7:30 pm, with a Sunday matinee March 19th at 2:00 pm.
