Building a New Chapter in Saskatoon
After decades at Innovation Place in Saskatoon, the University of Regina’s faculties of Social Work and Nursing are preparing for a new chapter.
The faculties’ current location has been a long-standing arrangement that allowed the University to maintain a strong presence in Saskatoon. This spring, both programs will relocate to a newly renovated, standalone building in the city’s north following the expiration of their lease and a review of the University’s space needs.
Nurse Practitioner graduate earns Deans’ Medal, champions access to care
For Cory Gray, being awarded the Deans’ Medal for the highest GPA in the Collaborative Nurse Practitioner Program (CNPP) is a deeply meaningful achievement. It reflects his dedication to nursing, commitment to lifelong learning and passion for improving health care access in underserved communities.
“This recognition reflects not only my academic effort, but also the mentorship of instructors and preceptors, the support of my family and peers, and the trust of the communities I have had the privilege to work with,” says Gray.
An Inspiring Journey in Nursing
From Student to Instructor
When Simon Ntumba Makubudi arrived in Canada, he dreamed of pursuing a health care career. What he did not foresee was that his academic and professional journey would ultimately lead him to the University of Regina, Faculty of Nursing as an instructor, inspiring the next generation of nurses to follow their passions in the field.
Ntumba Makubudi’s connection to the University of Regina began in 2007 when he enrolled in the Faculty of Science after completing a year of English as a Second Language. “I began my academic journey as a science student, aiming to move into a professional program in health care” he said.
