Muriel E. Finlayson Undergraduate Environmental Science Scholarship

Long-time University of Regina chemistry laboratory instructor, Muriel E. Finlayson,  has left a legacy by creating two new scholarships for undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. Muriel E. Finlayson, who passed away August of 2006, left $156,000 in trust to the U of R funding for the funding of  two new scholarships,  the Muriel E. Finlayson Undergraduate Environmental Science Scholarship and the Muriel E. Finlayson Undergraduate Computational Science Research Scholarship.

Criteria for the Muriel E. Finlayson Undergraduate Environmental Science Scholarship:

The scholarship will be awarded to a University of Regina undergraduate student who meets the following criteria:

  • pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a strong focus in environmental science
  • registered and remain registered in a minimum of 24 credit hours in the two semesters immediately preceding the semester in which the award will be held. A Coop work term may be used in lieu of one 12 credit hour semester
  • entering year 3 (completed 53 credit hours) of their program
  • minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 85%

The value of the scholarship is $3000.
