University of Regina President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Vianne Timmons, along with the Deans of Nursing and Social Work, were in Saskatoon as part of the President's Community Connections Tour.

The annual tour provides opportunities for University of Regina leaders to listen and learn about post-secondary needs from school administrators, students and community leaders across the province

In addition to the meetings, President Timmons met with committee members of the new alumni branch in Saskatoon and hosted an alumni reception for those who live in and around the area.

“The University of Regina is a provincial university, so it is important for us to maintain and build on the relationships we have with communities throughout Saskatchewan,” says Dr. Timmons. “Some of our programs are delivered in Saskatoon, and we have many alumni and current students in Saskatoon and area. Engaging with them and our other partners reaffirms our commitment to our students and communities, and that we are dedicated to and passionate about making post-secondary education available to everyone.”

The three strategic priorities in the University's strategic plan, peyak aski kikawinaw (2015-2020), are student success, research that has impact, and a commitment to our communities. To view the complete plan, visit: www.uregina.ca/strategic-plan.

The Community Connections Tour has been a University of Regina initiative since 2009.
