Patricia Miller-Schroeder

Pat Miller-Schroeder is a tenured Instructor in the Women's and Gender Studies Program at the University of Regina. Her research and teaching is inter-disciplinary in nature and often at the intersection of culture, science and gender.  She is increasingly turning to the use of creative non-fiction, fiction, narrative and auto-ethnography in her writing, research and teaching. She has recently completed an adventure novel Sisters of the Wolf about two girls on a dangerous quest 35,000 years ago in Ice-Age Europe. Pat has also published 17 non-fiction books for children in the areas of science, the environment and natural history as well as writing and researching the animal biography television series Wild Lives as well as several other educational films.

Research interests: Women and the environment, women's reproduction and reproductive processes, motherhood, mothering and mothers, women as scientists and as subjects/objects of scientific research, women and human evolution, special interest in examining linkages between all of the above as well as how they can be empowering or oppressive to women, women's creative writing, autobiography, memoir and life story as process and empowerment.
