Happy holidays!

From December 24, 2022 up to and including January 2, 2023 the University of Regina and its faculties and departments will be closed. During that time, most services will be unavailable or available in a limited capacity:

  • Administrative offices and all University buildings will close at noon on Friday, December 23 and will re-open on Tuesday, January 3. Classes resume and the Winter Term begins on Wednesday, January 4.
  • Main Campus lockup will begin at 1 p.m. on December 23, with exterior doors being locked first.
  • During the holiday break, only those with Main Campus building and office keys and/or residence keys/cards will be allowed to enter campus buildings.
  • Emergency calls can be placed to 306-585-4999 as Main Campus Security is on site throughout the holiday season. Don't forget your U of R ID card!
  • During the closure, University buildings will be heated and ventilated to minimum levels to save energy costs.
  • The Winter Term begins and classes resume January 4. The Registrar’s Office has tuition payment schedules, deadlines for adding/dropping classes, and other important dates on its website.

The Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport

The Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport will be open Tuesday, December 27 through Friday December 30. The main doors at the south of the building and the historic main doors at the east of the building will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. During these hours, the Fitness and Leisure Centre and Gyms 1 and 2 will have drop-in use on a first-come, first-serve basis. The pool will be open for open recreational swim each of those days from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. A valid student or membership card continues to be required – but during the holiday break, the drop-in fee is being lowered to $2. Bring some friends along to try out the facilities for the discounted rate!

Dr. John Archer Library

While the Library will be closed over the break, electronic journals, books, databases, and other online resources (including video streaming services) will continue to be available. If you have books that need to be renewed – and no one else is waiting on them – don’t forget to log into your account to extend your borrowing period. The Library will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on January 3.

The Campus Bookstore will be closed through the holiday break; however, you can still shop online through the Campus Store website.

Student Housing

Although all food service locations across the University will be closed during the holiday break, students staying in campus housing will have access to pre-arranged meals available. They will continue to have access to resident and community assistants and residence life co-ordinators and front-desk service.

The Winter Term begins and classes resume January 4. The Registrar’s Office has summarized tuition payment schedules, deadlines for adding/dropping classes, and other important dates on its website.

Have a safe and happy holiday season!
