Safety Training


Below are the online (UR Courses) training courses and mandatory workshops currently being offered by Health, Safety & Wellness.  Please read the training instructions below carefully in order to ensure your timely and successful completion of the course(s) and workshop (where applicable) you requested.

♦You may request/complete Chemical & Lab Safety AND Biosafety Awareness online training at the same time.

NOTE:  CHEMICAL & LAB SAFETY & BIOSAFETY AWARENESS online training
must be completed w
ithin six (6) weeks of registration date

If the online training is not completed within six (6) weeks, you will be un-enrolled from the online course and a new training request will have to be submitted.

  

Chemical & Lab Safety Mandatory Workshops


Chemical & Lab Safety workshops are being delivered with a maximum of ten (10) participants.
Those who wish to wear a mask are welcome to do so.

You must have successfully completed the Chemical & Lab Safety online training no less than 24 hours prior to requesting a workshop date/time.

Chemical & Lab Safety participants are responsible to request and successfully complete the mandatory workshop for Chemical & Lab Safety no more than **SIX (6) weeks from the successful completion of the online training course.

If you do not request and successfully complete the mandatory Chemical & Lab Safety workshop within the designated six (6) week time frame, you will be required to repeat the online training and request another workshop.  This may result in being denied access to teaching and research space(s) that require the completion of this course.

Thursday, February 2, 2023 - 9:00 am to 11:30 am
Friday, February 24, 2023 (Winter Reading Week) - 9:00 am to 11:30 am
Monday, March 6, 2023 - 9:00 am to 11:30 am
Tuesday, March 28, 2023 - 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm
Monday, April 10, 2023 - 9:00 am to 11:30 am

orkshops are not scheduled during the final exam period beginning Friday, April 14, thru to the end of term, Thursday, April 27.

**This does not include a workshop that has been cancelled due to low enrollment or circumstances beyond our control.
We will reschedule an alternate workshop date/time as soon as it is possible.

 

Biosafety Awareness Mandatory Workshops


Biosafety Awareness workshops are being delivered with a maximum of six (6) participants.
Those who wish to wear a mask are welcome to do so. 

You must have successfully completed (no less than 24 hours prior) the online training for Chemical & Lab Safety/Biosafety Awareness AND workshop for Chemical & Lab Safety prior to attending a Biosafety Awareness workshop.

Biosafety Awareness participants are responsible to request and successfully complete the mandatory workshop for Biosafety Awareness no later than *SIX (6) weeks from the successful completion of the online training course.

If you do not request and successfully complete a mandatory Biosafety Awareness workshop within the designated six (6) week time frame, you will be required to repeat the online training and request another workshop.  This may result in being denied access to teaching and research space(s) that require the completion of this course.

If you require Autoclave Training, this information will be provided with your certificate, by email, after successful completion of Biosafety Awareness training.

Thursday, March 16, 2023 - 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (time change)
Thursday, April 13, 2023 - 9:30 am to 11:00 am
