Transportation
Lead by:
Darren Cherwaty, Director of Health Safety & Wellness, and PACS member
With thousands of people going to and from the University of Regina on any given day, the University is responsible for supporting and using sustainable, multi-modal forms of transportation. This will not only reduce our carbon footprint but will enable the University to serve as a role model for the wider community.
Now is your opportunity to inform the University on sustainable transportation actions to achieve a more sustainable future. Please join me and other members of our campus community on any of the following dates to provide your ideas on sustainable transportation.

In preparation for these meetings, I invite you to consider the following:
1. Is there an issue with sustainable transportation at the U of R? Why is it an issue?
- What evidence is there to support this as being an issue?
- How does this issue relate to our Strategic Plan?
2. What is the current condition?
- What has the UR done, what programs/policies/ are in place already to address sustainable transportation?
- What is the current condition (EX: Ride share mode, bike promotion, etc)
3. What is the root cause?
- Are there unsustainable practices on campus that might be a root cause of improving sustainable transportation?
- Are there institutional barriers to solving the problem?
Designing the Solution
1. What is the future state?
- What will success look like in 5 years? In 10 years?
If you are unable to attend one of the meetings, I welcome your written submission to the above questions. Please send your input to darren.cherwaty@uregina.ca no later than June 30, 2021.
