“When I think about my own move-in day arriving at my university as a young student, suitcase in hand, no one to greet me I knew I had get out this morning and every move-in day to personally welcome as many students as possible,” shares Dr. Vianne Timmons, President and Vice-Chancellor, as she greets students entering Kīšik Towers on Move-In Day.

Dr. Timmons was just one of more than 100 University faculty, staff, and student ambassadors out to greet students as they moved into on-campus housing on August 31. Each of them is committed to creating a warm and positive first impression, ensuring students know that the U of R is a community; one big diverse and inclusive family.

By September 5, the first day of classes, 1,000 students will be living on campus and more than 15,000 students will be on hand for the start of the fall 2018 semester.
