During the AGM, Christine Neimczyk, Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations, CAA Saskatchewan, was elected as President of the URAA Board of Directors. An active community member and former Vice President of the board, Neimczyk is excited about the continuity of the URAA board as they continue to carve out their important role within the U of R community.

“We are very fortunate to work with such a dedicated and passionate volunteer board,” said Neimczyk at the September 16 event. “The experience of those returning and the fresh ideas and enthusiasm of the new members elected this evening will certainly help frame the future of URAA as we work together to serve you.”

Over the past year, the URAA has contributed to many U of R Alumni & Community Engagement initiatives including the Alumni Crowning Achievement Awards, Research With Impact Presentations, the Slam Dunk of an Evening event, and the U of R Alumni Grey Cup party in Calgary. The URAA has also generously supported U of R students through 10 scholarships and a donation towards the Student Emergency Fund.

The URAA, a non-profit charitable organization, was formed in 1974 and is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The Association's mandate is to promote the accomplishments and support the future development of the University of Regina, its students and alumni. This is reflected in the Association's vision statement: We are the leading proponent of our University and our alumni throughout the world.

All graduates of the U of R automatically become members of the URAA and entitled to exclusive benefits and services. The URAA board strives to develop programs that are meaningful and valuable for its members.
