Sharps Waste Disposal Procedure
See Biological Waste Disposal Poster (4 MB)
- Contaminated or non-contaminated sharps (such as razor blades, needles, scalpels, small glass shards, etc) must be placed only in the orange or red sharps containers available in Science Stores.
- Prior to Wednesday, email Health.Safety@uregina.ca to notify us of what waste you are dropping off
- Stop by 'Waste Wednesday' to drop off your waste. The Chemical & Lab Safety Advisor will be present to accept the waste and it will be stored in the disposal room until the next BioMed pick-up
- Barcodes, unique to your Lab, are placed on the waste containers
If you have any questions concerning waste disposal, please contact Health, Safety and Wellness.
