Donalda’s research interests include the areas of family and individual resilience in a number of contexts such as family violence, separation and divorce, immigration and with children living in high risk situations. Research interests

Randy Johner is a member of the Faculty of Social Work. Her research interests focus on exploring diverse abilities from a critical disability studies lens; (re) examining 'normalcy', (dis) empowerment and the construct of 'Other' within the confines of social inclusion/exclusion; service provision and policy needs of families, particularly those living with some form of disablement, which can include substance use issues; the pursuit of a holistic model of health and well-being that embraces spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional and environmental aspects; arts-based research (i.e. drawings, digital-stories, photos, etc.); and research methodologies, particularly those that include Emancipatory Disability Research (EDR) principles. She is passionate about learning from others, taking risks, being an outlier and retaliating against mainstream ideologies, and staying positive during chaotic times.
