Led by:
Dr. david Gregory, Provost and Vice-President (Academic), and PACS Co-Chair
Carol Reyda, Facilities Management, past Sustainability Manager, and PACS member

Each and every person is responsible for enacting leadership that supports sustainability. Leadership is about vision and influence, but it is also about taking action in the everyday, locally and globally, to advance the health and well-being of people and the planet.

The Thematic Working Group for Leadership is looking for students, staff, and faculty with enthusiasm, interest, and/or experience in leadership, governance, policy, and human resources to help the University create the 2016-2021 Sustainability Action Plan. We strive to address the principles of EDI and reconciliation.

The suggested goals of this working group will be to:

  • Identify the various forms of leadership at the UofR
  • Confirm the University’s definition of Sustainable Development
  • Understand the University’s connection to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
  • Review Leadership goals and accomplishments from the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan for Sustainability
  • Brainstorm actions the UofR can take to further Sustainability through Leadership
  • Evaluate those ideas and form actionable steps and goals

In addition to the May 19, volunteer meeting, the time commitment for this group includes four meetings:

Thursday, May 27, at 10:30 am
Monday, June 7, at 1:30 pm
Wednesday, June 16, at 1:30 pm
Friday, June 25, at 8:30 am

Those interested in joining this working group should RSVP using this Volunteer email form by Friday May 14, 2021. Please include a brief explanation regarding your interest in participating in this working group.
