Phone Functions
Below is a complete list of functions and specifications for all telephones used at the U of R campus.
BASBD
The BASBD is a single line analog set with a ringer.
The BASBD requires a dedicated Voice drop.
Aastra 8003/4
The 8003 and 8004 are single line analog sets with voice mail capabilities.
They come with the following features:
- Voice mail indicator lamp
- Ringer volume adjustment switch
- Handset volume adjustment switch
- Link/Flash key (for 3-way conference calling)
- Redial key (on-campus only)
- Mute key
The 8003/8004 require a dedicated Voice drop.
Meridan 8009
The 8009 is a single line analog set with voice mail capabilities and the following features:
- Voice mail indicator lamp
- Ringer volume adjustment switch
- Handset volume adjustment bar
- 6 self-programmable memory/autodial keys
- Link key (for 3-way conference calling)
- Redial key (on-campus only)
- Hold key
- Visual ringing indicator
The 8009 requires a dedicated Voice drop.
Meridian 9316
The 9316 is an enhanced single line analog set with voice mail capabilities and the following features:
- Voice mail indicator lamp
- Handset/ringer volume adjustment bar
- Name and Number Display
- Callers List
- Adjustable contrast
- Call Directory
- 8 self-programmable memory/autodial keys
- Link key (for 3-way conference calling)
- Redial key (on-campus only)
- Hold key
- Release key
- Dial key (dial a number before you pick up the receiver)
- Speaker - Handsfree/mute key
The 9316 requires a dedicated Voice drop and electrical outlet for the display/speaker adaptor.
Meridian 2008
Meridian 2616
Meridian 3903 Enhanced/3904 Professional
Although the 3903 and 3904 sets resemble 2002 and 2004 IP phones they are digital multi-line phones with 3 line-24 character displays, voicemail capabilities
The 3903/4 requires a dedicated Voice drop.
Nortel 2001 IP Phone
The 2001 is a Voice over Internet Protocol set with voice mail capabilities and the following features:
- Set Lamp
- Message Waiting Key
- Speaker (Listen only)
- Soft Keys (Transfer, Conference, Call Forward, Ring Again, Call Pick-up)
- Navigation Cluster Keys
- Feature Keys - Message, Services, Good-bye/Release Key, Hold Key and Line Key
- Volume Control Bar
The 2001 requires a dedicated Network drop.
Nortel 2002 IP Phone/Avaya 1120e IP Phone
These sets area Voice over Internet Protocol sets with voice mail capabilities and the following features:
- Set Lamp
- Speaker with Handsfree Key and LED
- 1 Line Key and 3 Programmable Feature Keys
- Soft Keys (Transfer, Conference, Call Forward, Ring Again, Call Pick-up)
- Navigation Cluster Keys
- Feature Option Keys: Message Inbox, Telephone Options, Quit, Good-bye/Release Key, Hold Key and Line Key
- Headset Key with LED
- Mute Key with LED
- Volume Control Bar
The 2002 requires a single Network drop to the desktop for telephone and co-located PC.
Nortel 2004 IP Phone/Avaya 1140e IP Phone
The 2004 is a Voice over Internet Protocol set with voice mail capabilities and the following features:
- Set Lamp
- Speaker with Handsfree Key and LED
- 1 Line Key and 11 Programmable Feature Keys
- Soft Keys (Transfer, Conference, Call Forward, Ring Again, Call Pick-up)
- Navigation Cluster Keys
- Feature Option Keys: Message Inbox, Telephone Options, Quit, Good-bye/Release Key, Hold Key, and Line Key
- Headset Key with LED
- Mute Key with LED
- Volume Control Bar
Nortel 2033 IP Conferencing Phone
The 2033 is a Voice over Internet Protocol conferencing set with the following features:
- Embedded three microphone design offers 360 degree room coverage with support of up to 20 ft. x 20 ft. (6.1 m x 6.1 m) room dimensions.
- Optional (up to two) 7 ft. (2.1 m) expansion microphones deliver expandable deployment coverage for rooms up to 20 ft. x 30 ft. (6.1 m x 9.1 m).
- Integration of Backlit 3x24 Flexible Super Twist Nematic (FSTN) Liquid Crystal Display enhances viewing angles for conference participants.
- Locally generated “comfort noise” upon detection of silent periods ensures maximum efficiency in communications.
- Ten fixed keys (Line, Release, Hold, Mute, Up/Down Volume, Scroll Up/Down, Messages, Services) for easy-to-use navigation.
- Three soft-label keys for easy-to-use navigation.
