Teaching and Learning Software Guidelines
- UR Courses
is based on the Moodle platform, and is the learning management system institutionally supported by CCE and Information Services.

Grad Student Software Installation Information
- Grad Students who are using a University-provided computer or laptop, and need software installed, should have their supervisor contact IT Support to request the install and authorize installation charges.

- AppsAnywhere software access
- Available on public lab computers and smart classroom instructor stations, AppsAnywhere provides access to a host of software programs.
- ArcGIS Geographical software
- Faculty and staff can request installation of ArcGIS software and connect to the U of R license server.
- Students can access the U of R online ArcGIS maps site with their University of Regina login.
- Microsoft and Adobe products
- Faculty and staff can purchase site licenses through Information Services.
- Students can access Microsoft Office365 online for free, or purchase MS Office from Microsoft.
- NVivo data analysis software
- Faculty and staff can request installation of NVivo software.
- Students can access NVivo on campus through AppsAnywhere in public labs.
- Off-campus users can connect to an on-campus lab computer by remote access use AppsAnywhere.
- Qualtrics survey tool
- Faculty, staff, and students can access Qualtrics with their uregina username and password.
- SolidEdge
- Engineering students have access to SolidEdge windows software. To install on a Macbook
students must first install parallels.

- SPSS Statistical Software
- Faculty and staff can request installation of SPSS and access through the U of R internal servers.
- Students can access SPSS on campus through AppsAnywhere in public labs.
- Off-campus users can connect to an on-campus lab computer by remote access to use AppsAnywhere.
- Anyone, including Students, can access a 14-day Trial Trial SPSS Statistics Subscription online with IBM.
- Turnitin plagiarism detection service
- Access to Turnitin is available to instructors through UR Courses.
- Instructors can also request a Turnitin account to facililtate student submissions directly in Turnitin.

Downloads
Some software is available for faculty, staff, and students to download and install on a laptop or home system.
You can go to the Downloads page to access available software for Windows and Mac Operating Systems.
Available downloads include:- VPN
- Groupwise email/calendar.
- Sophos Antivirus.
- Webdrive network folder access for Windows.
- Kanaka network folder access for macOS.
- Papercut and iPrint for setting up printing to print optimization devices on campus.
